Our Community Council

The Community Council represents the local community to large organisations including Scottish Borders Council, Police Scotland, NHS Borders etc. We work hard to represent the area of Cockburnspath & Cove, to consult with local residents and pass their views onto these public sector organisations.

We liaise with local and national organisations to ensure that Cockburnspath and Cove is a great place to live, work and visit. Community council meetings are open to members of the public who are welcome and encouraged to attend all or part of any meeting. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of every month (except July). If you would like to raise any matters, please feel free to come along or speak to our Community Councilors.

The size of each community council varies; some are as small as five and others as large as 18 people. Community councils in the Scottish Borders are governed by the Scottish Borders Scheme for Community Councils.

Cockburnspath Community Council has eight members, but new members are welcome to attend and see if they would be interested in becoming a member.  Community elections took place in August 2025, however there is still room for more to join, for further details, please contact: secretarycccc@live.co.uk
