Cockburnspath Community Shop
A friendly, community-owned shop at the heart of village life
Our wonderful community shop is at the heart of Cockburnspath, providing a convenient and welcoming place for residents, visitors and walkers to pick up everyday essentials, enjoy a coffee or discover something a little different.
Community-owned and community-led, the shop stocks a great selection of groceries, fresh produce, snacks, treats and drinks, alongside local produce, artisan goods, crafts and gifts. Whether you’re popping in for the essentials, grabbing something for lunch, or looking for a special local gift, you’ll find a warm welcome and plenty to choose from.
The shop is also a useful stop for visitors and walkers exploring the area, with hot drinks, snacks and other refreshments available. Its location makes it particularly convenient for those enjoying the Southern Upland Way, Berwickshire Coastal Path and other local walking routes.
Located beside the Village Hall, the shop is perfectly placed within our growing community hub, close to the school, play park and football fields. It has become an important part of village life and is valued by both local residents and those passing through.
More than just a shop
But perhaps most importantly, the Community Shop is about more than shopping. It is a place to meet neighbours, catch up with friends, support local producers and help keep our village thriving.
By shopping locally, we can all play a part in supporting this much-loved community asset and helping to ensure it continues to be here for the village for years to come.
Volunteers always welcome!
The shop is a community venture, and volunteers play an important part in helping to keep it running and supporting everything it provides for our village.
We are always looking for volunteers! Whether you can spare a regular shift, help out occasionally, or simply have a few hours to give, every bit of help is greatly appreciated.
Volunteering is a lovely way to meet people, get involved in village life and help support a much-loved local facility. You don’t need to have lots of experience — just a friendly attitude and a willingness to help!
If you would like to get involved, please speak to the team at the shop or get in touch through the Community Shop’s Facebook page.
Pop in, say hello, do your shopping and support your community shop — we’re lucky to have it!
